I love me some Instagram. The art historian inside cannot get over the fact that there’s a hugely popular app devoted to sharing and looking at pictures.
One of my recent Instagram obsessions is Eddie Ross. If you haven’t heard of him (yet), he’s the East Coast Editor of Better Homes & Gardens. He has some serious style sense and he’e undertaken a pretty cool project recently…
Firstly, though, it’s worth mentioning that Eddie worked as the senior decorating editor of Martha Stewart Living for a while, so he knows his way around various shades of griege, folks.
But then there’s this…
Yeah. Y’all know patterns speak to me.
My point is that Eddie’s is a really diverse talent. And fun. And somehow always, no matter what, on point and tasteful. Pretty much everything Better Homes & Gardens stands for. I mean, I love that whole bougie eclecticism thing — and he does it so, so well.
(Modern Mix, Eddie’s book, is an inspiring little gem.)
Eddie has a wonderful blog, but as he readily admits there he is much better about updating his Instagram (@eddieross). Lately, many of his posts share the story of the old house he and his partner, Jaithan, recently bought on Main Line, outside of Philadelphia. It has me drafting letters like this:
DEAR HGTV: PLEASE GIVE THIS MAN A SHOW!
Do yourself a favor and follow Eddie on Instagram so you too can see his progress on this fixer-upper. After all, home renovations are way more fun as a fun spectator sport 🙂
