I am currently *obsessed* with learning how to sew, which to my family is the irony of ironies. You see, when I was in fourth grade, I was ‘helping’ an older cousin with a Home-Ec project and accidentally ran a sewing needle through my thumb. And I haven’t touched a sewing machine since. So you could say I have a bit of a learning curve.
But I’m signed up for classes and am reading voraciously with dreams of making my own clothes and textiles…
Given my DIY-dreams, the blog Tilly and the Buttons has been on my reading list lately. Now, I know what you’re thinking: ‘Tilly’ does just so happen to be one of my favorite names due to a certain little lady living in this bungalow. But, seriously, this is a great blog for anyone looking to learn to sew. She’s very clear and informative and makes projects fun. Her site is also a treasure trove of information on basic questions: What kind of sewing machine should I get? Where can I find fabrics I like? What do I need to know when buying fabric online? Etc, etc… Check out Tilly when you have a chance!
Have a great week everyone! xo
What about you?! Do you know how to sew? When / how did you learn? Any other great sewing websites you can recommend?
